Exposing Mallorca: revealing the island one frame at a time

Exposing Mallorca is a slow, quiet look at the island behind the brochure. I’m David Campling, a British-born photographer living in the northeast of Mallorca. This island — with its layered history, gentle light, and still corners — has become both my home and my subject. I created Exposing Mallorca to share more than just images. It’s a place to pause, to observe, and to tell stories — one frame at a time. Most of what I shoot is simple: a face in window light, an abandoned finca, a bird’s pause on a wire. But within that simplicity, there’s always something more — a suggestion of time, emotion, memory. This isn’t a travel blog. It’s not about landmarks or checklists. It’s about seeing — light, detail, texture, and soul. If you find something here that makes you stop, look again, or feel something quiet… then we’ve already made a connection. Thank you for visiting.

Faro de Avanzada (built in 1905) sits on a rocky headland at the mouth of Port de Pollença. At only 11 metres high, it’s not a tall lighthouse, but perched 25 metres above sea level it has guided ships into the bay for well over a century. Its white tower...

Sunrise – 13/8/25

Building the Pond Hide: A Patient Pursuit
